PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICES
Clinical care, grounded in research
As an APA Titled physiotherapist, I provide advanced care for complex musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions, with a particular focus on the spine. My approach combines hands-on clinical experience with current research evidence, including research I have contributed to directly, to develop individualised treatment for each person I see.

Complex & Persistent Low Back Pain
Low back pain that hasn't resolved with previous treatment, or that keeps returning, often needs a more individualised approach than generic advice or a one-size-fits-all programme. My doctoral research and published work focused specifically on the management of low back pain, including discogenic pain, and I use this evidence base to assess each presentation carefully and tailor treatment to the underlying drivers of your pain.
THIS INCLUDES ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF
-
Persistent or recurrent low back pain
-
Discogenic (disc-related) low back pain
-
Lumbar disc herniation with associated leg pain or sciatica
-
Low back pain with referred or radicular symptoms
-
Bone stress injuries of the spine, including pars stress injuries and spondylolysis

Sports-Related Spinal Injuries
Athletes and active individuals place specific demands on the spine, and recovery needs to account for the goal of returning to performance, not just resolving symptoms. Drawing on extensive experience with elite and professional sport, I manage spinal injuries with a clear focus on safe, structured return to training and competition.
03
Sports Injuries & Return to Sport
Beyond the spine, I assess and manage a range of sports-related musculoskeletal injuries, with an emphasis on individualised rehabilitation and evidence-informed return-to-sport decision-making. I hold a Master of Physiotherapy (Sports) from the University of Queensland, and I have worked across rugby, cricket, tennis, badminton, and other sports, including at the Hong Kong Sports Institute. This means I understand both the clinical and the practical demands of getting back to your sport at the right time and the right level.
THIS INCLUDES
-
Assessment and rehabilitation of sports injuries
-
Return-to-sport planning and progression
-
Load management and injury-risk reduction

Neck Conditions & Headache
Neck conditions make up a significant part of my current practice, and many headaches share common causes with neck problems that respond well to targeted physiotherapy. My work in this area is supported by ongoing professional development over many years, most recently advanced training in the assessment and treatment of the upper quadrant. I am also establishing a dedicated headache and neck service at PhysioCentral, bringing together a small team to provide thorough, individualised assessment and care.
THIS INCLUDES ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF
-
Neck pain, including persistent and recurrent presentations
-
Cervicogenic headache, where headache arises from the neck
-
Neck-related stiffness, movement restriction, and referred symptoms

Complex & Multidisciplinary Pain Management
Persistent pain is rarely about one thing alone, and some conditions respond best to a broader, coordinated approach. I have led and contributed to multidisciplinary pain management programmes for complex back, neck, and shoulder problems, working closely with other health professionals. Together we look beyond the symptoms to understand how your pain affects your movement, your daily life, and your confidence, so that we can address what is genuinely holding your recovery back.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A considered approach, from first visit onward.
Every person I see receives a thorough initial assessment to understand their condition, history, and goals. From there, I develop an individualised management plan and explain the reasoning behind it, so you understand both what we are doing and why.
I'm a firm believer in never standing still. I continually seek out new learning, both through my own research and by regularly undertaking advanced courses here and overseas, because I want the people I treat to benefit from the most current thinking in the field, not just what I learned years ago. Ultimately my aim is simple: to combine the best available evidence with practical, individualised care that helps you get back to what matters to you.
